At out of sight, we're dedicated to shedding light on the things left in the dark. Specifically the truth about the UK's sewer systems and the devastating impact of how much overflow dumps pollute our waters. We want clean waters as much as you do.

The hidden truth the combined system

The UK's combined system is in a state of overwhelm because of the volume of rain pour, house water and items which don't belon in our pipes as well as an increase in population. Which leads to frequent overflow dumps directly into our rivers and coastal areas. This results in major water pollution, impacting wildlife, ecosystems, and the overall health of our environment. 

Your community is our priority

The majority of sewer networks have never been modernized, specifically in Newcastle it framework is the same from when it was first installed making it difficult to repair because of its age. 

This has led to raw sewage being constantly dumped into the Tyne and other surrounding water sources leading up to the coastal area. But even this isn't enough to help make the system run smoothly as there are numerous occasion where raw sewage will leak onto roads out of the drains, posing a health risk for people walking by.
